Peter Hunt: "We will remain locally owned."

In light of the recent news about Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Howard Hanna acquiring Realty USA and Nothnagle Realtors, both formerly headquartered here in New York State, Jim Fink of Buffalo Business First interviewed our Chairman & CEO, Peter Hunt, about HUNT Real Estate's future and asked him about the potential of HUNT also giving up its local roots and selling to a national company.

In the article dated September 9, 2016, Hunt reaffirms why HUNT Real Estate will continue to be family-owned and locally operated for generations to come. He is quoted as saying, "I have no interest in selling. I never have."

Hunt also added, "We are looking to the future. One of our goals is to attract younger agents and brokers. But to land those agents, you have to be willing to compete. Our direction has never been clearer.”

The Business First article also focused on the new HUNT Thrives marketing campaign and it's tagline: "As real estate companies merge, morph and disappear, HUNT thrives." As the article states, the campaign "was designed to reinforce the message that the company will not be sold and will remain in the hands of the Hunt family."

To that end, Hunt says, "Personally, I don’t want to have to report to another company, another corporate structure in another city,” he said. “I want to keep our money local and invest it locally.”
